Canning House commemorates Pelé

Pelé, née Edson Arantes do Nascimento, passed away on 29 December 2022 in São Paulo. Winner of three World Cups, the only football player to have done so, and scorer of a world record 1,279 goals over the course of his career, Pelé is widely considered as one of, if not the, greatest players of all time.

Canning House here pays tribute to the life and legacy of Brazil's treasured footballing icon; an innovator in the beautiful game, and an inspiration to millions in Brazil and around the world.

Brazil is observing three days of national mourning, with Pelé's funeral set to take place at Santos' Vila Belmiro stadium, where he spent the majority of his club career, on 2 and 3 January 2023.

Our thoughts are with Pelé's family, his loved ones, and all those affected by his passing.
