Canning House in conjunction with the Institute of Latin American Studies is pleased to announce a new series of talks taking a look at Britain's relationship with Latin America throughout the 20th Century. The series will cover various themes including political, economic and business ties; British communities living in Latin America, as well as the Latin American diaspora in the UK; and sporting and cultural ties.

Following the historic breakthrough of the peace accord signed between the Colombian government and the FARC rebels after more than 60 years of armed conflict, the voting is now down to the people of Colombia to choose whether or not to support the deal in a referendum taking place on 2nd October.

Nestled in the heart of South America between the giant markets of Argentina and Brazil, Paraguay is on the radar for global investment. Already an agricultural colossus and powerhouse of hydroelectricity, the country also yields strong opportunities in industry and manufacturing, financial and professional services, ICT and transport infrastructure, among others.

Ambassador de la Puente Ribeyro will present his views on the country's political, economic and business climate as it enters a new phase under the presidency of Kuczynski, as well as the new government's plans for the economy and opportunities for new business.
