Canning House, the UK’s leading forum for Latin America, Spain, and Portugal, is proudly partnering with Casa de América to organise their first joint conference, “Infrastructure: Powering Prosperity in in Latin America, Spain, and the UK” on Tuesday 18th March 2025 in Madrid.

This event is taking place in person, in Madrid. There will be no livestream or recording available.

                    

This unique event gathers infrastructure and energy specialists in Madrid from governments and companies across Latin America, Spain, and the UK to discuss the latest trends, share best practices and explore opportunities for collaboration.


In the lead-up to COP30, due to take place in Brazil in November 2025, this event will facilitate constructive dialogue on the role of sustainable infrastructure in driving productivity, growth, and social integration in Latin America while unlocking the region’s potential to drive the global energy transition.

The event will be conducted in both Spanish and English, with simultaneous translation. The conference will be taking place in-person, in Madrid, Spain.

    This panel will convene key decision makers from energy firms and financial institutions from across Latin America, Spain, and the UK to explore how these regions can leverage their complementary strengths – including their abundance of financial innovation, technological expertise, and natural resources - to drive the global energy transition. By analysing the potential for strategic collaboration across these regions, the panel seeks to contribute to global debates on energy security, economic growth, and sustainable prosperity, highlighting the crucial role of international cooperation in fulfilling sustainable development and decarbonisation objectives.

    This panel seeks to highlight how sustainable transport infrastructure can provide the backbone for economic growth and social development in Latin America. Panellists will analyse how the UK and Spain’s complementary expertise in fields such as consulting, project management, and financial services can help to deliver solutions for sustainable transportation in Latin America. In particular, the significance of building relationships with local partners in the region will be underscored. By bringing together industry and development experts from Latin America, Spain, and the UK, this panel will explore how efficient transportation infrastructure can drive economic development in Latin America, while responding to the needs of the region’s growing urban population and middle class.
