Join us for the launch of author and journalist Jimmy Burns' latest book: Cristiano and Leo: The Race to Become the Greatest Football Player of All Time, timed to come out just before the World Cup starts on 14th June.

Between them, Ronaldo and Messi have scored over a thousand goals, won the Ballon d'Or nine times and redefined modern football. They are also locked in an intense personal rivalry previously unseen in football and that has dominated the sport for the past decade. Jimmy Burns will be joined by Paddy Harverson to discuss these defining players of a generation.

The event will be followed by a wine reception. Copies of the book will be available to purchase from the publisher.

Born in Madrid, Jimmy Burns studied in London and Lancashire, worked in Portugal, Spain and Buenos Aires and is an award winning journalist and author, who wrote the internationally acclaimed Hand of God: A Biography of Diego Maradona, La Roja, Barça and When Beckham Went to Spain.

Paddy Harverson spent the first 15 years of his working life as a journalist, including 12 years on the Financial Times where he ended up as the paper's first Sports Correspondent. He joined Manchester United in 2000 as Communications Director, before becoming media adviser to Prince Charles and his two sons, William and Harry. He stayed at Clarence House until 2013 when he left to set up his own advisory firm, Milltown Partners. Among his highlights in football are scoring two goals at the old Wembley Stadium, and being present at a Manchester United pre-season friendly in Lisbon when the team's exhausted defenders, having been given the runaround by a teenage winger called Cristiano Ronaldo, demanded that Sir Alex Ferguson buy him on the spot.
