Book launch: 'Gaucho Dialogues on Leadership and Management'
- SCI Belgrave Square, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London
What makes Latin Americans tick? Why do foreign management methods so often fail in Latin America? What are the implications of the current mismatch between leaders and followers in the region? What makes for good leadership?
Alfredo Behrens' 'Gaucho Dialogues on Leadership and Management' addresses these questions and more through the lens of a dialogue between two gauchos, cowboys from the pampas, in this book that intertwines a study of organisational behaviour from a Latin American perspective with a literary and historical journey. "Rebellion, slavery, honour, loyalty, all make their appearance in this analysis of what makes great leadership" writes Richard House in his preface to the 'Gaucho Dialogues'.
Canning House is delighted to host the launch of 'Gaucho Dialogues on Leadership and Management'. Alfredo Behrens will be joined by Richard House and Simon Commander for discussion.
Alfredo Behrens is Uruguayan and Brazilian, and has held positions in business schools across the world. He currently lectures on cross-cultural leadership at FIA Business School in São Paulo.
Richard House is former head of FT Confidential for Latin America. Simon Commander provides strategic and economic policy advice to top-level decision makers, and is currently professor of economics at IE Business School in Madrid.
