Ambassadorial Briefing: The Pacific Alliance

Canning House is delighted to welcome the UK Ambassadors to Peru, Mexico and Colombia for a closed-door round-table briefing. Peru, Mexico and Colombia are three of the four states that make up the Pacific Alliance trade bloc. All have just seen or are about to see a change in leadership, with the resignation of Pedro Pablo Kuczynksi in Peru, and presidential elections due to take place in May in Colombia and July in Mexico.

Kate Harrisson was appointed British Ambassador to Peru in April 2018. Ms Harrisson joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2000 after working in the private sector in China. Her previous roles in the FCO include Deputy Head of Mission to Vietnam, Political Counselor in Beijing and Economic Consul in Hong Kong.

Duncan Taylor CBE was appointed Ambassador to Mexico in October 2013. Mr Taylor began his service with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1982. In addition to undertaking a wide range of jobs at the FCO in London, during his career he has held positions in the Grand Cayman, Barbados, Havana, Budapest, and New York.

Peter Tibber was appointed British Ambassador to Colombia in September 2015. He joined the FCO in 1984 after completing a doctorate in medieval history at Oxford University. Dr Tibber has been posted to France, Turkey, Mexico, Germany and Pakistan.
